Hello 3C Families,
Today we:
- Started our morning by working on our news paper articles.
- Talked about National Indigenous Peoples Day.
- Learned about how the Turtle is used in Indigenous calendars and looked at the 13 moons that go with the months of the year. Ask me to tell you what moon I was born in and what I think it could mean!
- Watched an oral story telling called "The Mouse and The Buffalo Skeleton". Ask me to tell you about the lesson of this story!
- Did a Métis inspired art.
- Made postcards from Tunisia in social studies.
- Played Indigenous games in P.E.
On Friday, June 23, outdoor and indoor Play / Sports Day activities for Grades 1-5 are planned. (There is no school for Kindergarten on Friday but Kindergarten will participate in Play/Sports Day activities with a Freezie on Thursday, June 22.) In line with the 2023 Calgary Stampede's theme, 'We're Greatest Together", activities will be planned to encourage the spirit of cooperation and collaboration. Students may dress in western wear on this day if they wish. Possible activities will include things such as:
The Hug & Go will be closed from 9:10 am (after drop off) until 12:30 pm to accommodate some of our outdoor Play/Sports Day activities. Mr. Freeze Freezies will be provided.
